This Darjeeling Green Tea combines the medicinal properties of Green teas with the exquisite flavor of Darjeeling Teas and is 100% Organic in nature. This is a fine Darjeeling with a delicate muscatel flavour, typical of a good Darjeeling. It has a gentle and refreshing aroma. This tea offers nice, medium floral character with light to medium astringency, with notable sherry wine/muscatel accents that enliven and adds interest to your cup. Barnesbeg is different from other gardens by soil type, altitude and rainfall pattern which helps produce tea distinctively different.

About Barnesbeg Tea Garden


Barnesbeg tea garden was established in 1871 by Christine Barnes and its original name was Barne's Bagh (meaning Barne's Garden). The garden has an elevation ranging from 238 to 975 meters and covers an area of 288 hectares. It is known for very good Darjeeling teas and has developed a certain mystique over the years. This is garden owned by the Goodricke Group. It's located in north Darjeeling area with picturesque settings. The nearest Railway station is New Jalpaiguri which is 90 Km from the garden and the Airport is Bagdogra 95Km from the garden. This picturesque garden facing the majestic peaks of Kanchenjunga. The Garden stretches from 780 feet to 3200 feet above sea level and enjoys a balmy, cool weather, with the Little Rangeet river gushing down the valley. Well drained. The main teas cultivated here include the black & green tea and also an Assam variety that offers brisk taste.A dual manufacturing process allows the garden to make both black and green teas .The superb green teas, famous for their health giving properties, are much sought after. The predominantly Assam bushes produce well styled teas with brisk liquors. There is a certain mystique in Barnesbeg. The deep faith and strong religious beliefs of the Buddhist, Hindu, and Christian communities mingle as one inspirational force for all. Barnesbeg is Certified Bio –Organic Garden w.e.f April 2010. There are five local Samaj (society) in Barnesbeg but they are bound in one bundle. Everybody obey the rules, order and instructions of the Samaj. There are one Govt. High School and one Govt. Primary School in this garden. The samaj are : 1) Navajyoti Gram Sudhar Samaj, 2) Tinaiker Sirubari Gaon Samaj (TSGS), 3) Godamtar Samaj (GTS), 4) Ucha Gram Pariwar (UGP) and 5) Lavatar. Religions are: 1) Hindu ( Sai Sangathan, Manav Dharma, Balyakishor) 2) Christain 3) Budhism

North Tukvar Tea Garden (Singla)


The tea estate is located in east Darjeeling and faces the Kanchenjunga massif. Out of 195 hectares of total land area, around 187 hectares of area is under tea plantation. The estate is laid in elevation that ranges from 1,500 to 2,800ft. About 650 workers are employed here. The main road connects Darjeeling & Jorethang. from Darjeeling the garden is 16 Kms.& Jorethang which is one of the main town of Sikkim state is only 7 Kms. from the factory. The garden produces early good first flush tea and fetches premium prices. The contribution of February & March crop is approx 20% of the total crop. Every year the quality of tea is improving.The garden has its own Nursery. It has also timber & bamboo forest. The garden has taken up massive developemental work such as Uprooting, Replanting & soil rehabilation.It was one of the first commercial tea gardens to be established in the region famous for Darjeeling tea. This estate started operating in 1850s and used seeds raised in government nurseries. Following the experimental stage, commercial production started in 1856 and the estate grew rapidly.North Tukvar Tea Garden mainly produces green tea and also Assam & China hybrids as well as clonal teas. The estate is owned by Jay Shree Tea Company.

Tukvar Tea Garden (Puttabong Tea Garden)


Puttabong (Tukvar) Tea Estate falls under the District of Darjeeling, West Bengal, India. Puttabong (Tukvar) is a tea estate within the urban agglomeration of Darjeeling. The area under tea plantation is 4.37 km2 (2 sq mi) while the gross area is 8.92 km2 (3 sq mi). Planted in 1852 this is the first tea estate in the history of Darjeeling Tea Plantation. The tea estate stretches from an altitude of 1500 ft to 6500 ft above MSL. This garden is planted with Darjeeling Clonal, Chinary bushes and Clonal tea stock especially developed to meet the agro climatic conditions of the area. In order to have a long term sustainable cultivation practices with a objective of producing healthy and safe tea, the garden is practicing IPM for long time. This garden is one of the biggest tea estate in Darjeeling. Tea area comprising of 5 divisions located at a stretch of approximately 20 Km from Darjeeling city to Sikkim State border. The garden produces Orthodox black, green and specially Darjeeling Tea. The garden has been very particular in ecological up gradation and maintaining bio diversity since many years. Different types of annual grasses, Leguminous Crop, short height shrubs and tall trees are planted in fallow land, boundaries of the section and vacant patches. Besides this, for sustainable production the garden has huge plant of Vermicompost, Cattle farming and making of liquid fertilizers with local herbs. The mountain breeze kissed by the great Kanchanjunga makes the teas produced by this garden UNIQUE.It is a low Altitude garden ranging from 1500 ft.to 2800 ft MSL facing North.
